A Lecture with Robert Boustany and Eddie Stern
April 28, 2018
$25 for members; $35 for non-members
Robert Boustany, an initiate into the Kriya Vinyasa yoga system, will walk us through why and how asana helps to release energetic blockages, setting the body up for meditations that are practiced in this lineage, and how they can change the neuropathways of the brain. With time, these practices recharge the body with strength, flexibility, and a heightened perception.
ROBERT BOUSTANY is an internationally celebrated yoga teacher, with a profound practice, based on a deep knowledge of physics and anatomy. Robert is a physicist by background and has studied many esoteric forms of yoga, tai chi chuan and qigong, which has led to his extensive understanding of personal-care for today’s lifestyle. This is the basis from which he has trained yoga instructors since the early 1970’s.
Over a span of fifty years, Robert’s path has been supported by many prominent yogis and swamis, including BKS Iyengar, Billie Gollnick, Sant Keshedas, Master Choa Kok Sui, Adanem Saran, Dr. Vasant Lad, David Swenson, Doug Swenson, Swami Muktananda, Swami Ranganathananda, Vethathiri Yogiraj Maharishi, Swami Satchitananda, and Prem Rawat. His philosophic perspective is Advaita Vedanta, based on detailed observation, perception and language as expressed by Dr. Vijai Shankar.
Robert’s current studies are with his holiness Swami Vidyadhishananda Giri and the Hansavedas Self Enquiry Fellowship. In 2014 Robert was initiated into the Kriya Vinyasa yoga system.
Robert embarked on creating Pralaya Yoga, a research-based practice that systematically balances, protects and rejuvenates the joints, by developing the weakest muscles. This facilitates the prevention of injury and supports recovery from imbalances and results in exceptional flexibility, greater strength and increased energy.
Robert obtained his Masters Degree in Physics from Rice University in 1973. His study of nuclear physics included a system for early detection of cancer, which has been applied in modified form. He followed various forms of brain research, including the use and development of advanced EEG systems to treat addictions, mental disorders and stress.
Robert cultivates a community that is open, loving and compassionate. He selflessly shares his knowledge and healing with all who cross his path. His passion for constant growth and knowledge is infectious.
